Rico, owner of Doghouse Studios is the head producer and co-creator of Behind The Noise. Rico has over 20 years experience working within all areas of studio and live music production. His credits run from his critically acclaimed debut album, ‘Sanctuary Medicines’ on Chrysalis/EMI Records and follow up ‘Violent Silences’ to various film and TV commissions. Rico has co-written, collaborated and produced with Electro Godfather Gary Numan, Shaun Ryder of The Happy Mondays, James Murphy of LCD Sound System and Trip Hop Legend Tricky.
He has performed 3 UK and 2 European tours with appearances at most major music festivals including T in the Park, Glastonbury, Rosskilde etc. Rico has a keen interest in assisting younger artists develop their skills in performance, writing and production and has continually worked with local artists throughout his career.
Sean has been engineering and producing in the Doghouse since 2005 and has often been described as an audio ninja. He’s worked alongside Rico on everything from albums to movie soundtracks and releases his own music under the guise of Modifier. When he’s not in The Doghouse, you can find him making radio programmes for the BBC and producing some of the UK’s most popular podcasts for the likes of E4, Amnesty International and The Guardian.
Sean has delivered cutting edge training projects including Radio GoNorth, Dare To Be Digital and BBC Scotland’s Creative Digital Media Apprenticeship Programme and has lectured in Sound Engineering at John Wheatley College, Perth College and Abertay University.
For the last 15 years Kato has worked as a studio and live sound engineer, stage technician and tour / stage manager. His work has taken him across the globe from the UK to Japan, Brazil, USA and all over Europe. He has worked alongside Emeli Sande, Jack Bruce, Glasvegas, Friendly Fires, Foster The People and many more. Kato is stage manager at Rockness and Bestival. He is a key member of the BTN team assisting students in preparing for the gigs in the rehearsal room and stage managing all BTN live events. He’s also a pretty good photographer…say ‘cheese’.
Gerry Gregory is an experienced sound engineer and music producer. He engineers at all BTN recording sessions and rehearsal days and has vast experience in developing and working with young artists. Gerry has a degree in audio technology and ran his own studio ‘Central Sound‘ for three years before joining the BTN team.
All of our team members have been vetted by Disclosure Scotland and are registered with the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme.
